Scouting Ceremonies

Like most Scout groups we do have ceremonies. In fact we have two main ones and these are listed below.

Flag Break

Troop Night

This is performed every uniformed troop night at the beginning Raising the Flag, and at the end of the evening Lowering the Flag. (If the evening programme is such that no uniform is worn but the activity is at our hut then the Flag will be raised and lowered by the Duty Leader).

Camping

This is performed every morning after breakfast and before inspection Raising the Flag, and at the end of the evening Lowering the Flag. (Whilst at camp this is usually performed in top half of uniform only).

Investiture

The investiture ceremony is performed after a boy has fulfilled all the requirements of the Scout award badge. It is performed in one of the following ways and is the choice of the boy concerned.

Scout Troop Night

Troop Night Investitures are normally performed at the end of the nights program but before Lowering the Flag.

Cub Pack Night

When this type of investiture is performed we add an extra piece of ceremony called Crossing the Line.
